About the service
Turanga Health's general practice service is one of the few in New Zealand where registered adult patients can be seen for free.
We have one GP, one practice nurse, two rural health nurses, and support staff like kaiāwhina, caring for patients who live in the area.
The area we cover goes from the Gisborne side of the Kaitaratahi Bridge, across to the top end of Lavenham Rd, and out to Whatatutu, Motu and Matawai.
Making an appointment
Where possible ring ahead on (06) 862 3630 and make an appointment for your or your whānau.
If more than one family member needs to see the GP make sure you tell the receptionist so time can be allocated for each person.
Please cancel your booking if you are unable to make it so we can give that space to someone else in the community.
Emergencies are given priority ahead of bookings. You will receive priority if you are bleeding, experiencing chest pain, short of breath or have an injury.
The general practice phone diverts to Turanga Health after hours.
