Turanga Events / Whakataetae

The Rangatahi division are out of the office most days, they have been busy lately with the resurgence of traditional Maori games making a comeback in schools around Te Tairawhiti.
Ki o Rahi is a traditional pre-european Maori ball game.
It is a fast running contact sport played on a circular field, it involves handling and passing of a ki (ball).
Before each Ki o Rahi game at a school, injury prevention sessions are held focusing on the importance of stretching, hydration, warming up and down before and after sessions.
